There were no riders aboard, but the trains that will take passengers from Redlands to San Bernardino later this fall trekked the 9-mile track as simulated service and training began Monday, Sept. 12. Crews are expected to operate the Arrow line 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. weekdays as the San Bernardino County Transportation Authority inches closer to passenger service this fall. An official launch date has not yet been announced. The simulated service runs a pair of Diesel Multiple Unit trains on the tracks, with stops at each station every 30 minutes during peak morning and afternoon hours, according to SBCTA.
