For two weeks, Redlands Conservancy and Redlands Area Historical Society focused Redlanders' attention on historic preservation, the concept and practice that encourages restoration and protection of historic resources, both built and natural. Six events over two weeks introduced participants to multiple issues surrounding preservation activities, and left them with several key takeaways. At the May 15 Fortnight Reception, guests recognized the benefits of renovating historic buildings for commercial purposes as Redlands Conservancy presented the 2023 Adaptive Reuse award to Escape Craft Brewery and Kitchen on Oriental Street in Redlands.
